Son of Arthur and Caroline Marshall from Low Fell; Gateshead; Co. Durham.

On July 21 1944 collapsed two Lancaster bombers almost simultaneously down in Boxtel, after being wounded by German fighters. One (with registration number LM-183) was shot by Heinz-Wolfgang Schnauffer the 4./NJG2 and crashed at 1:40 at the Mijlstraat. The other (LM-185) five minutes later was the victim of Lt. J. Förster of 8./NJG2 and came down with Onrooi. Both Lancasters of 90 Squadron had departed from their base Tuddenham to bomb Homberg. None of the crew members of these two aircraft survived.

From the second Lancaster there were initially found only two members of the crew, namely the gunners Sgt Arthur Forster Marshall (19) and Reginald Percy Naylor (35). They were buried in Woensel, respectively grave KK 117 and KK 118 grave. More than a year later, in September 1945 the rest of the crew was found. They were interred in the cemetery of the Holy Heart Church in Boxtel. It was navigator Sgt William Norman Morgan (21) (graph 1); radio operator Sgt Peter Harry Richardson (20) (graph 5); pilot F / Sgt William Lane (23) (graph 6); Flight Engineer Sgt Edward John Flaherty (23) (graph 7), and bombardier F / Sgt Hugh McBeath Brown (24) (graph 8).

Saturday, July 22, 1944 at 1:45 pm crashed a device in a pasture in Onrooi De Nederwettensestraat. Shot by NF LT. J. Förster of the army unit 8./NJG2. Ascended of airport Tuddenham destined Homburg aiming to bomb the aviation factories.
