Son of Frank and Hanora Hannah Lee from Paddington; Queensland; Australia. A.a.u.q.

Bernard Francis Lee Squadron 247. Flying Typhoon MN998 on 28/9/44 when he crashed and was killed 5Km south east of Boxtel.(at the end of Operation Market Garden)

He was piloting a Miles Master on 1/7/43 on a training exercise with No17 Advanced Flying Unit having taken off from Raf Calvely, near Nantwich, when he became disorientated in the summer haze and was unable to find landmarks. Probably running out of fuel he crash landed in a field near Thorncliffe and severely damaged the aircraft.

He went on to participate in Typhoon attacks in Normandy and Holland on enemy armour and strategic targets.
