Son of Colonel Frederick Shearburn; Indian Army; and Barbara Ann Shearburn from Crowborough; Sussex.

a Hawker Typhoon IB of the 181 Squadron at 18.10 on September 22 crashed at Keldonk, with pilot P / O D.R.O. Shearburn.

The Typhoon Shearburn came down between Veghel and Erp to increases of water extraction station. According to Robbie Zinniq Bergmann, a Dutch pilot in this squadron, the squadron was tasked to attack the German tanks were in a fierce battle north of Veghel with the side posts which defended the corridor. The aircraft was hit by flak, not coming from his dive and hit the ground. Shearburn got a field grave and was reburied later.
