Son of Professor F. J. Browne and Mary Brown Gallaugher to Pinner Middlesex. Browne was the 2nd pilot of the crew of the Whitley P5106, MH-O pilot Myers.

On May 10, 1941 collapsed around 3:05 a Whitley V-bomber of 51 Squadron down on the Weerter Heath near the municipal border with Weert. The aircraft returned from a mission in Ludwigshafen and was, like the Polish Wellington a week earlier, shot from the air by a German night fighter, flown by Lt. Reinhold Knacke of 2./NJG 1.

The pilot P / O Peter Myers (27) and his crew 2nd pilot Sgt Henry Gallaugher Browne (22), radio operator / boordschutter F / S Arthur Jackson (20), observer / bommenrichter Sgt Bernard Kipling (23) and radio operator Sgt George Arthur Selby (21) they all died.
