On June 12, 1943 1:40 plunged to a Halifax V of the 76 Squadron down to about four kilometers south of Bladel. The bomber was shot down by a German fighter of II / NJG1. Pilot was Sgt A.J.N. Wilson, who with five other crew members was killed. There was one survivor, the navigator Sgt. YES. Lobban, which was made three months after his escape from the Spanish border prisoners. That same night also planes were shot down in Mill and Sambeek.
