Son of Alfred John and Harriet Myra Armstrong; Husband of Gladys Lilian Armstrong from Lee; London.

On June 15, 1943 at 01:03 the plane crashed near Hushoven in Weert (Limburg).
They departed from airport Dunholme Lodge for an attack on Oberhausen.
Total volume of this attack were 197 Lancasters and 6 mosquito’s.
17 Lancaster were lost in the attack.
During the attack on Oberhausen 267 buildings were completely destroyed and 584 severely damaged. 85 people died in Oberhausen and 258 were injured.
The cause of the crash in Weert is unknown.

All seven crew members died in the crash of an Avro Lancaster I.
