Son of Frederick John and Mary Ann Firth from Upper Yarraman; Queensland; Australia.

Firth was one of the Air Despatchers aboard Dakota KG-566 of 233 Squadron Royal Air Force. They left Blake Hill Farm Airfield for herbevoorradings mission in Arnhem. The Dakota was shot down by German fighters and crashed near the farm ‘Sans Souci’ Family Brands, south of the ‘Oirschotse Dijk’ at the Swan, Eindhoven, at 17:34 pm. The pilot is still missing, but the other people were buried on board in Eindhoven.
Nowadays the crash site built by the industrial buildings of Philips glass laboratory.
