Son of Sydney Herbert Wodehouse; and whether Edith Grace Wodehouse from Harlow; Essex.

On June 17, 1944 came to a Halifax III Boskant down from the 77th Squadron. The device was aimed Sterkrade in the Ruhr. The pilot was F / Lt Sydney Edward Wodehouse (24). Five crew members were killed. Besides the pilot Wodehouse was his co-pilot F / O Arthur Hanley Ford (32); the gunners Sgt John Henry Brown (20) and Sgt Robert Cottar and the flight engineer Sgt Douglas Dean Roberts (21).

The Australian bombardier F / O Jack Stewart Nott (26) have survived the crash and landed on the resistance in Tilburg. There he was shot by the Gestapo in a raid on July 9. A grave he did not, his name is mentioned on panel 257 of the Runnymede Memorial.

The survivors F / Sgt. J.W. Needham and F / Sgt. J.H. Bulmer were taken prisoner and survived the war.
