Lights on Wargraves

Throughout the Netherlands and the rest of the world, lights are placed at war graves on Christmas Eve.
Lest we forget.

In 2018, all 686 Allied war graves at the Oude Toren cemetery in Eindhoven received a candle.
This initiative of the 18 September Foundation and the Gravenstichting Brabant is supported by students from several Eindhoven secondary schools.

On Christmas Eve, December 24, the candles were lit between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. the candles will burn for between 50 and 60 hours.

In 2017, this already happened at 284 locations throughout the Netherlands. Since 2018 also in Eindhoven.
